 g is Common Core aligned and will empower classroom teachers to develo
 p essential skills in their students featured in the new C3 Framework 
 for College, Career and Civic Life.\n \nThis training will include:\n
  \nHelping students understand core First Amendment values and their 
 rights and responsibilities as citizens, especially as consumers and p
 ublishers of information and the news in a digital world.\n \nNews li
 teracy skills including:\n\nHelping students identify what information
  is news\n\nHelping students identify what information is credible\n\n
 Helping students identify fairness and bias\n\nHelping students identi
 fy what information is “actionable”\n\nStrategies for improving st
 udent civic engagement\n\n\n \nDeveloped in partnership with the Cent
 er for News Literacy in the School of Journalism at Stony Brook Univer
 sity, this training will allow for guided exploration of the News Lite
 racy Curriculum as well as opportunities for each participant to work 
 with content and instructional experts to tailor turn-key resources an
 d strategies to meet their own students’ instructional needs and lea
