 is Common Core aligned and will empower classroom teachers to develop 
 essential skills in their students featured in the new C3 Framework fo
 r College, Career and Civic Life.\n \nThis training will include:\n 
 \nHelping students understand core First Amendment values and their ri
 ghts and responsibilities as citizens, especially as consumers and pub
 lishers of information and the news in a digital world.\n \nNews lite
 racy skills including:\n\nHelping students identify what information i
 s news\n\nHelping students identify what information is credible\n\nHe
 lping students identify fairness and bias\n\nHelping students identify
  what information is “actionable”\n\nStrategies for improving stud
 ent civic engagement\n\n\n \nDeveloped in partnership with the Center
  for News Literacy in the School of Journalism at Stony Brook Universi
 ty, this training will allow for guided exploration of the News Litera
 cy Curriculum as well as opportunities for each participant to work wi
 th content and instructional experts to tailor turn-key resources and 
 strategies to meet their own students’ instructional needs and learn
