DESCRIPTION:MEDIA LITERACY The NYSBA Law, Youth and Citizenship Progra
 m has opened the proposal process for those wishing to present at the 
 38th Annual LYC Civics and Law-Related Education Conference, Oct. 9 & 
 10, 2014. The conference will be held at the Charles B. Wang Center on
  the Stony Brook University Campus on Long Island. The theme this fall
  will be: βThe Informed Citizen: Media Literacy for the Classroom.β
   There will be two 90-minute sessions of presentations on Friday, Oc
 t. 10: Session One β 8:45-10:15 am Session Two β 10:30 β noon Th
 e afternoon plenary session will be a panel discussion featuring Mary 
 Beth Tinker, John Tinker and Cathy Kuhlmeier.  The deadline to submit
